It was a trip of a lifetime. Everything right from the Ship, the crew, the expedition team, to the landings chosen was exemplary. We also got very lucky with the number of polar bear sightings and the weather. You were also extremely meticulous with providing the necessary information regarding the cruise. Read more... "We wanted to express our heartfelt thank you to Expedition Voyages and Mr. John Ambat helping us throughout the process of making our dream come true." We wanted to express our heartfelt thank you to Expedition Voyages and Mr. John Ambat helping us throughout the process of making our dream come true. We went on a cruise trip to the Arctic with Poseidon expeditions in June 2023. Mr. Ambat has not only helped us select the best package but also explained all the necessary arrangements to be done to prepare for the trip. Since this was our first trip to Europe, he guided us with the processes of applying for visa and other necessary arrangements. We had called/messaged him umteem times with our various questions about the cruise, trip etc. and he had been very patient and guided us throughout. Our trip was such a smooth experience where we enjoyed every bit of it right from the moment we landed. The trip overall was phenomenal and the team was super efficient, knowledgeable and especially our lil daughter enjoyed the most with zodiac trips, treks and watching all the icebergs, glaciers and wildlife. Mr. Ambat guided us with the right selection of cruise and it was totally worth it. Would definitely recommend it to all our friends and family and looking forward to booking another trip to Antarctica with Expedition Voyages in coming years! I should thank John Ambat for hand-holding us during the planning stage and providing us all the required information. This is the second trip organised by Expedition Voyages enabling us to cover both the poles. It was Antarctic earlier and now more recently the Arctic. I should thank John Ambat for hand-holding us during the planning stage providing us all the required information. Considering our more than satisfactory experience in the Antarctic, we did not think twice before approaching John for our Arctic trip. Though there was an initial hiccup of bad weather (there is hardly any option in these parts of the world if there is inclement weather), the rest of the trip was picture perfect. The cabin in the ship Ocean Albatros (she was a new ship and on her third trip) was spacious. In these trips, it is very important to have a good Expedition Team - we were glad that we had the guidance of an excellent and experienced Expedition Team. Hospitality was also of very high quality - had the benefit of few Indian crew members also - with a delicious spread served during our entire stay. A truly memorable experience. It was another lifetime experience for me, with your help and support. Thanks to you and Poseidon for giving me this lifetime opportunity. It was another lifetime experience for me, with your help and support. The first one being the Antarctic Voyage in 2018 Feb. This time I tagged 6 of my friends along and everyone enjoyed and was enthralled by the wonderful management of the Poseidon people. For me personally, my dream was to see a polar bear from close distance and I did. I can't explain to you how happy and content I am when I saw the mother and the cub feeding on a walrus carcass. All my friends were exhilarated with the cruise experience - the ambience, the food, the mission experts, everything was so perfect. We had a fantastic time at Iceland before we left with the cruise on 17th, and then it was purely a taste of paradise. We saw humpbacks, fir seals, bearded seals, packs of walrus, flocks of puffins and many other species of birds, herds of reindeers and so many more. More pictures... "Wonderful experience of our lifetime circumnavigating the Svalbard archipelago." Me and my wife had the wonderful experience of our lifetime circumnavigating the Svalbard archipelago. We took ' The Realm of the polar Bear in Depth ' adventure voyage starting 9th. July 2013 from Longyearbyen. The abundant marine life, wild life, birds and the mesmerizing beauty of the virgin nature is possibly unparallel anywhere in the world. The ship M/S Expedition, the adventure team, the crew, the food all can be rated as top class. The meticulous attention by G-Adventure at every stage of our tour deserves a BIG THANK YOU. "The feeling of crossing the line of 80° North and arriving at Mofen island whilst experiencing midnight Sun was the one out of this world." MS FRAM is a lovely ship with just right number of people. We had several interesting lectures on board about history, environment, life and future of Arctic which was delivered by expert expedition leaders. The Arctic is a beautiful part of the world with many Glaciers, mountain ranges and islands. One can experience wonderful nature watching beautiful birds and occasional sight of amazing mammals on this earth such as Walrus and Polar bears. It had everything what one can imagine thrill, innovation, adventure and of course fantastic hospitality. Though we could not reach Ilulissat Icefjord and beyond, Plan B and C were equally good and moreover the zeal to satisfy the guests. We could get reasonably good Indian food too. This was an experience of a lifetime. This was an experience of a lifetime. The entire crew of Expedition deserves a big applause. The captain took us beyond 82 north latitude degrees up to the sea ice, and the crew managed to locate a polar bear on a kill. It was indeed applaudable that the captain took the ship through the fast ice to within 100 metres of the bear. All zodiac landings were done with the greatest concern of the safety of the passengers. Each location was well selected. The food was awesome and cleanliness up to the mark. Daily wrap up meetings and fun atmosphere in the bar added great value to the entire experience. All in all, it was an experience of a lifetime. You can call it one-stop service I & my wife ( both 70+) have so far done 3 voyages with Expedition Voyages of Kolkata, India. The voyages were (i) Norwegian Fjords & Arctic Peninsula by Hurtigruten in June 2017 (ii) Antarctica by Hurtigruten in Jan 2018 and (iii) Iceland & Svalbard by Poseidon in June 2018. All arrangements were personally supervised by John Ambat of Expedition Voyages. Everything clicked like clockwork. You can call it one-stop service! The diligence and sincerity of John were impeccable and we never faced any problems whatsoever. If we do such trips again, we will definitely opt for Expedition Voyages again! A true home away from home! A very big thank you to John Ambat of Expedition Voyages for booking our cruises around Iceland & to Greenland with Albatros Expeditions. The facilities on board were excellent as were the staff & the food was abundant & absolutely delicious, a true home away from home! The Albatros Expedition team had scientists who were able to give us briefings, enable us to see the birds & wildlife & ensure the expeditions went off without a hitch. Iceland was divine, almost like another planet with the geothermal activity, hot springs, geysers, glaciers, waterfalls & strange volcanic formations. Greenland was also a very different experience. Our first sight of ice bergs was absolutely thrilling. The people were friendly, the country beautiful & the experience fantastic. Blessed to be amongst you and in a position to share our experience No residents. No development. No inhabitants. So no ports, airports, roads, homes, hotels, restaurants etc. You can't carry food, paper or plastic there. Nor leave anything behind. Because there are no inhabitants on the continent there is no electricity nor cell network. Only way to step on land is to drop anchor couple of miles from shore and travel ashore on small amazon rafts. We flew into NYC then took an 11 hour flight to Buenos Aires... another 3 hour flight to Ushuaia the southernmost town on earth. From there its a thousand mile journey crossing the drake passage arguably the roughest sea on the planet. Nov-Feb is the only time one can visit with the Sun out for 22 hours and temperature between 0 and -40 degrees. Breath taking and stunning place... unpredictable weather... harsh conditions... no vegetation... only lots of snow, tons of icebergs from small to gigantic sizes... some bigger than cities!! and penguins, seals, whales and birds for company... makes us realize how insignificant we are and yet how collectively we have been destroying the planet. We are back in Buenos Aires getting wifi after 10 days and starting our return journey back to Mumbai... a whole lot wiser and environmentally more conscious... Given a chance would highly recommend one must pay a visit... it's something one can't possibly describe nor any photo or movie can. capture or do justice... blessed to be amongst you and in a position to share our experience... looking forward to meeting you all soon... best wishes and warm regards Tour: Antarctica on World Navigator: Jan 26-Feb 4, 2024 |

Just came back from that beautiful journey to Antarctica It certainly was the best thing in life that we have done insofar. Spellbinding and magical it was. Poseidon and the MV Sea spirit are tops , and no words will ever suffice as to our experiences. That land - its desolation and isolation is surely something and the memories that we three carry with us will always be cherished. Beautiful in all ways , the wonderful crew and hospitality and cuisine beats anything that we expected . Thanks so much for walking us through all the way seamlessly and made it so much more easier for us. Great going. Tour: Antarctica on MV SEA SPIRIT: Christmas Voyage: Dec 19-29, 2023 |

Many thanks for organizing this trip. I had a wonderful time in Antarctica. I went to the magical seventh continent, Antarctica in December 2023 through Expedition voyages and Albatros expeditions. It was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. The cruise was great with a very learned group of expedition guides. The C-category balcony room was very comfortable, and the on-board food was great with a good variety to choose from. I made good use of the additional facilities like the gym, jacuzzi, and sauna. Do not miss the opportunity to participate in additional activities like camping on mainland Antarctica and snowshoeing. The journey to Ushuaia from India, though long, is worth it. The polar plunge in the freezing waters of the Antarctic Ocean was the highlight of the expedition. Crossing the Drake Passage over 2 days was rough, with quite a bit of seasickness on the first day, but got used to it on the way back. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I strongly recommend more Indians to undertake this adventure of a lifetime. Antarctica on Ocean Albatros on 05th December 2023 |

Very professionally handled by Expedition Voyages and Poseidon Expeditions in the time of pandemic to ensure safe journey. Mr. Satish Agarwal booked with us on MV SEA SPIRIT and travelled during a time which was very challenging, due to Covid restrictions. We provided him with information and guidelines, in coordination with Poseidon Expeditions to ensure he had a smooth journey, with all safety protocols in place. Here are his comments: A different experience once in a life, cross high waves volatile sea, ( Drake Passage),. 24 hours day ( no night) , big iceberg, lot of penguins, seals, some whales(luck by chance) and travel in zodiac high waves - different experience but luxurious. Passengers up to 70 years. Fine wine, dinner, good room. Very professionally handled by Expedition Voyages and Poseidon Expeditions in the time of pandemic to ensure safe journey. More pictures... I want to thank you so very much not only from my side but also on behalf of my husband and children. I am unable to find words to express appreciation. The team leader was amazing and the acumen she exhibited in her choice of route and spot selections were to the point. This made it easy for all of us to enjoy the day and relax the night. She was capable and the crew were obedient which really made it a pleasant and comfortable experience. We had beautiful rides on the Zodiacs twice a day back and forth from the ship visiting the various islands and the fauna were mild and welcoming to us. Adelie, Gentoo, Macaroni and Chinstrap penguins were adorable and our children loved them so much. For the right reasons interaction too closely was not allowed and it is obvious the penguins were a bit frightened with too much a crowd. We are from Andhra Pradesh and our food aspects are a choosy one. We would not expect anything remotely Indian thousands of miles away in a place that has zero population. To our good fortune and the blessings of the almighty on our delicate stomachs which we restrict to vegetarian, the Executive Chef was a Mr Pai Kumar from (let us take a moment to inhale) Hyderabad. He was a Telugu person like us. He would discuss our menu and cook himself because the crew were other nationality. Let me name a few of the south Indian delicacies that we had - Upma, Oothappam, Pongal, Poori Baji, Chapathi and Kurma for breakfast. Sambar, rice, curries, pulovs, fried rice, curd rice, lemon pickles, naans, pappad, salads and other exotic southern Indian delicacies. Speaking of crowd, the IAATO is doing a fantastic job managing the ecosystem. I was beyond the moon to realize that not more than 50 people could be present on any island at one point so that animals are not traumatized. As our ship sailed out of the bay another ship would enter in. It is good that the Expedition Teams work in such harmony and tandem that the pristine nature of the place is preserved. It is important that this is maintained in the generations to come. Read more... Antarctica Express, Quark, January 15-21, 2020 |

Overcast skies, numb silence and the sounds of glaciers shattering is an experience whose value is worth more than what any currency can define A big thanks to Expedition Voyages and Poseidon Expeditions for the wonderful experience sailing to Antarctica for a 11 day trip on the recently refurbished M/V Sea Spirit with state of the art facilities. John Ambat (Kolkata office of Expedition Voyages) was brilliant in his approach in helping me choose my cruise. All the formalities were taken care by post and mail without me having to reach out to them in person, which was a big advantage for me. The cruise was beyond awesomeness in all its aspects. The PE members were immaculately professional and helped understand each aspect of the cruise. The ship crew were the most friendliest people and an open-bridge gives a real life feel of the ship's navigational aspect (controls and maneuvers). We made 2 landings per day on an average and were always greeted by enthusiastic penguins and lazy seals. I had a blast with my photography under such beautiful lighting conditions. Overcast skies, numb silence and the sounds of glaciers shattering is an experience whose value is worth more than what any currency can define. Overall, it was a fabulous trip and very insightful about the southernmost continent ; Antarctica. For more information Tour : Best of Antarctica - M/V Sea Spirit 04 Dec 2017 |

Just back from an once in a lifetime experience to Antarctica on the MS Midnatsolit was one of the most exhilarating trips we have ever taken in our lives. Myself & my 3 friends from Mangalore, would like to thank Expedition Voyages for recommending & booking us on this 15 days M.S. Midnatsol Cruise from Chile organized by Hurtigruten group. The ship and the crew were very good-especially the Expedition crew team from Norway & Europe- who were experienced, informative & motivating and took extra care with regards to safety. We got to see and explore Antarctica with its raw un-exploited nature which was very fascinating & breathtaking. The Gigantic Glaciers & Ice bergs were just majestic & magnificent. We also got to see colonies of Chin-strip & Gentoo Penguines, Sea Lions, Seals, Birds & Humpback Whales in their natural habitat. On the whole, the expedition was very thrilling, adventurous and a memorable one - memories of which will remain etched for ever in our lives. Tour : Antarctica Trip - 2017 |

The ship crew and the expedition team was very competent and that did make the difference. Being vegeterian, I was quite apprehensive about the food. However, it was no problem at all. In fact, sometimes, the chefs even made the spicy curries although they were not from India. The place Antarctica was a difficult destination, but we felt immense satisfaction of experiencing it. This was possible only because of the expedition team on board. The Drake Passage lived up to its reputation, but the ship crew did not stop the services even once. I don't think I can write and convey even the essence of it all, it's a lifetime experience, even the photos won't be able to do justice. Everything was perfect. We had a great trip which is kind of a certainty if you sail with Cruise Norway. We joined the group at Santiago on the 2nd.of Feb 2008. There was a total of 5 landings. I don't think I can write and convey even the essence of it all, it's a lifetime experience, even the photos won't be able to do justice. Everything was perfect. We took permission and was allowed to cook our own food a couple of times. We were the only 2 Indians and I was being called the new chef on the ship since they got to know that we were cooking our food, some of the people even came by our table to taste the Indian food. Thanx for your help, please send me the Arctic cruise details, may be someday I'll try to make it to the Arctic also. Tour:Antarctica , Feb 2008 |

Many Many thanks for the wonderful trip. The Hospitality was Phenomenal. The Expedition Leaders, ARNE, PETER ,ULRICH FRANZ & the entire team put in phenomenal effort to make sure that we did not miss a thing. I have yet to come across such a highly educated & dedicated team anywhere else. ARNE was a big hit with the kids teaching them the finer nuances in his own humorous style. I remember telling Peter after the Lectures that if we had such teachers in college we would have studied a lot more. What can we say about Capt. Hansen. He taught the biggest lesson of our lives when no effort was spared in rescuing the passengers of Explorer & taking amazing care of them onboard. Very Inspiring.Head Waiter DEO ,Cathy & so many of the restaurant staff spared no efforts in making us the vegetarian food we wanted. True dedication. It was really difficult job. All smiled their way through while catering to the most difficult demands all around. Landings were so well organised with clockwork precision & the beauty of the GREAT ANTARCTIC CONTINENT left us spellbound We had tears in our eyes when we left.
