Tromso Wilderness Centre on Kvaloya Island is situated in a scenic area with views of the ocean and mountains. Here you will meet more than 250 huskies and puppies, receive an introduction to dog sledge driving and learn about the world's longest dog sledge race, the Iditarod, presented through pictures and film footage. Then join the Wilderness Centre's guide in exploring the plant and bird life around the centre, before meeting back in the traditional Sami lavvo (tent) for a hot drink and a slice of cake.
