Husky Taxi Transfer

Travel from the airport to the Kirkenes Snow Hotel on the world's most unique transfer - husky sledge! Up in these northern climes, the dog sledge has always been seen as an incredibly efficient mode of transport so it was only a matter of time before someone came up with the idea for them to be waiting outside the small terminal building at Hoybuktmoen, Kirkenes' hill top airport. Each sledge can carry two people and warm over-clothing will be provided.

EXCURSION HIGHLIGHTS

In the snow-covered landscape of Norway dog sledding has always been considered an efficient form of transport. It is perhaps no surprise then, that a "dog taxi" transfer service has been launched to collect passengers from Kirkenes airport, one of the country's most northerly airports. Up to two passengers can fit on each sled, but if there is a bigger group the hotel will send more dog teams, who arrive with thermal suits - as well as everything you need for a comfortable journey. The 45-minute trek takes a scenic route around the local countryside from the airport to the Kirkenes Snowhotel.
